The holiday season is a time for family, warmth, and the magic of childhood. But there’s something even more powerful than that: the spirit of giving.
This year, you can harness that spirit to make a life-changing impact for children and adults with special needs. Will you join us in our year-end campaign?
Reaching our goal will allow Healing Reins to start the new year strong, expanding our horsemanship programs to reach even more participants. Your gift supports group lessons, Mobile Experience visits, and more, giving individuals the chance to build confidence, social skills, balance, strength, and joy through interactions with our herd.
And when you give by December 31, your donation may also help manage your tax liability for 2025.
Take a moment to explore the personal stories below and see the real difference your support makes.
Meet Mick and Tom, two of our incredible volunteers whose dedication is essential to all we’ve accomplished at Healing Reins.
Tom has been with us for nearly two years, sharing his time and talents through his love of carpentry. He’s been pivotal in building several stations for our sensory trail and crafting multiple items used in our Mobile Experience.
Mick has been part of the team for almost a year and a half, serving as a horse leader and side walker for one of our mounted participants, Janae.
Both Tom and Mick proudly served our country in the U.S. military, and like many veterans, they continue to give back to their local communities. They enjoy riding and have formed close bonds with their mounts, Payday and Champ — as well as a strong friendship and sense of camaraderie with each other.
Lilah came to Healing Reins just one year after learning to walk. Shy and unsure at first, she has blossomed into a confident, independent young rider. This summer, she even competed in her first horse show all on her own. Her mother says what began as simple therapy has become a passion Lilah truly loves. Your generosity helps make journeys like hers possible.
Marlie and Brooke are two close friends who have bonded over their shared love of riding at Healing Reins. After more than a year of riding together, both girls have grown stronger, more confident, and more independent as they work side by side through dressage patterns.
Brooke’s mom says Healing Reins has helped her step out of her comfort zone and build physical strength, while Marlie’s mom loves seeing her focus improve and her joy around the horses grow. Your support helps make friendships and transformations like theirs possible.
