VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
Volunteers are critical to the success at Healing Reins. There are many opportunities to volunteer with Healing Reins! From relaying information from instructor to rider, to helping run a successful fundraiser, our volunteers can do it all! We want to make sure that our opportunities provide the perfect role for you.

PROGRAM VOLUNTEERS
Responsible for participating in Riding lessons or equine assisted learning activities.
SIDE-WALKER
A side-walker is responsible for the safety of the rider during riding lessons. They relay information and directions from the instructor to the rider. This activity may require up to 20 minutes of walking or jogging and specific hand holds to assist the rider. No horse experience necessary.
We prefer you commit to a scheduled participant(s) for the entire session.
Orientation, Hands-on Training and a skills test is required.
HORSE LEADER
A Horse leader is responsible for the horse during riding lessons. Horse leaders may be required to groom and tack the horse. Horse experience is required. Walking and jogging during lessons for 20-30 minutes is to be expected. Orientation, hands-on training and a skills test is required.
FUNDRAISING VOLUNTEERS
Volunteers that help at special fundraisers or events. May serve on an event committee.
Orientation is highly recommended, but not required.
Our two major fundraisers are "Run for the Roses" run and "Christmas on the Farm"
SPECIAL SKILLS VOLUNTEERS
Volunteers that wish to donate their professional skills, time and expertise in a specific field. This may include serving on a specific committee. Orientation is required.
