Therapeutic Riding: A mounted, traditional riding disciplines or adaptive riding activities conducted by a certified instructor in private or group lessons. Activities are designed to meet each participant’s needs and may focus on fine/gross motor skills development, balance, strength or coordination
Therapeutic Horsemanship: An un-mounted method of activities for students that may be physically limited for riding or are afraid of riding.
We currently have three instructors; Katie Weintraut, Deneen Hanshew and Stacy Denton that are in the process of completing their certification. Healing Reins is working with other established PATH certified centers to provide guidance and training for our instructors. Current participants at this stage, have the understanding that they are helping to build the foundation of the Healing Reins Program while our instructors in training are completing their mentor-ship hours.
REQUIREMENTS FOR PARTICIPANTS:
Healing Reins participants pay $25 per lesson. Every participant is able to ride on a partial-scholarships thanks to the generosity of our sponsors, donors and local fundraisers that make it possible.
The full cost of a one-hour therapeutic riding lesson is $70.
Instructions for interested Participants:
STEP 1: Download and Complete the Participant Application, you will be asked to have a physician complete the application.

STEP 2: A Healing Reins instructor will call you to schedule a Participant Interview, if applicable.
STEP 3: If you are selected to participate in the program, you we be scheduled for a preliminary ride and evaluation.
STEP 4: Participants that are enrolled in the program will have one weekly, 30 min to One hour session depending on the participant.
Costs for participants are $25 per ride.
